The Farmer’s Struggle with God: A Lesson on Resilience

A Farmer’s Argument with God :

One day, a farmer approached God with frustration and questioned Him harshly, "What do you know about farming? You send rain whenever you feel like it, make the wind blow at the wrong times, and sometimes withhold rain, leaving the crops to wither. Stop taking care of my crops; I’ll handle everything from now on."

God’s Gift to the Farmer :

Hearing this, God replied, "Alright, from now on, rain, sunshine, and wind will all be under your control". God granted him the boon to control sunlight, rain, and wind, and then departed.
The farmer, felt happy and eagerly awaited the next planting season. He commanded rain when he wanted it, stopped it when the fields were soaked, and controlled the wind’s pace to his preference. His crops grew lush and green under his careful direction, and the fields looked beautiful.

The Failed Harvest :

Finally, harvest season arrived. The farmer proudly cut the first stalk, only to find the grain empty and hollow. One by one, he cut open more, but each one was the same—no grain, just empty husks.
Shocked, he cried out to God, “Why is this happening? I used the rain, sunshine, and wind exactly as needed! But my harvest has failed.”

God’s Explanation :

God smiled gently and explained, “When I manage nature, the wind occasionally blows strongly. This forces plants to dig their roots deeper into the soil for stability. When rain is scarce, roots spread wide and deep in search of water. It is these struggles that make the plants strong and produce healthy grains. By controlling everything, you removed every challenge. The crops grew tall but became weak and lazy. They had no resilience and thus couldn’t produce healthy grains.”

The Farmer’s Realization :

The farmer decided to return the boon given by the Lord to him.

Realizing his mistake, the farmer humbly returned control to God, saying, “Please take back the rain, the wind, and the sunshine. I understand now.”

Lesson: Building Strength through Struggles :

Struggles bring out our hidden strength and push us to grow. If life were free of challenges, we would never discover our true potential. Just as plants grow strong through the trials of nature, we grow resilient through life’s obstacles.
Struggles are not setbacks; they are the foundation of resilience and success.
