சிலர் அவசரப்பட்டு எல்லா முடிவுகளையும் எடுத்து விட்டு பின்பு அதை நினைத்து வருத்தப்படுவார்கள். அப்படிப்பட்டவர்கள் நிதானமாக முடிவெடுக்க வேண்டிய அவசியத்தை உணர வேண்டும். அதைப்பற்றி விரிவாக இந்தப் பதிவில் காண்போம்.

ஒரு ஊரில் வாழ்ந்து வந்த வயதான அரசர், எல்லோரிடமும் பண்பாக நடந்துக் கொள்வதை வழக்கமாக வைத்திருந்தார். அவர் பல வருடங்களாக நம்பிக்கையான ஒரு கிளியையும் வளர்த்து வந்தார். ஒருநாள் அந்த கிளி அரசரிடம், 'அரசரே! நான் போய் என் பெற்றோர்களை பார்த்துவிட்டு கொஞ்சம் நாளிலேயே திரும்பி வந்துவிடுகிறேன்' என்று அனுமதி கேட்டது. அதற்கு அரசரும் 'சரி' என்று அனுமதிக் கொடுக்க, கிளியும் பல காடுகளை தாண்டி சென்று அதனுடைய பெற்றோர்களை பார்த்தது.

பிறகு திரும்பி கிளம்பி வரும் போது, கிளியுனுடைய பெற்றோர் அதனிடம் ஒரு வித்தியாசமான பழத்தைக் கொடுத்து, 'இதை உன் அரசர் சாப்பிட்டால் அவருடைய நோய் நொடியெல்லாம் குணமாகி இளமையாக மாறிவிடுவார்' என்று கூறி கொடுக்கிறார்கள்.

கிளியும் அந்த பழத்தை எடுத்துக் கொண்டு வந்தது. வரும் வழியில் மிகவும் களைப்பானதால், அந்த பழத்தை கீழே வைத்துவிட்டு ஒரு மரத்தடியில் படுத்து ஓய்வெடுத்தது. அந்த சமயம் அங்கே வந்த ஒரு விஷப் பாம்பு பழத்தை கடித்துவிட்டு போய்விடுகிறது.

இது எதுவுமே தெரியாத கிளி அரசரை சந்தித்து அந்த பழத்தை சாப்பிட சொல்கிறது. ஆனால், அரசரின் மந்திரியோ சாப்பிடுவதற்கு முன்பு இதை சோதித்து பாருங்கள் என்று கூறுகிறார். சரி என்று காவலாளி ஒருவரை கூப்பிட்டு அந்த பழத்தில் ஒரு துண்டைக் கொடுக்கிறார். அதை சாப்பிட்ட காலவாளியும் இறந்து விடுகிறார். இதைப் பார்த்த அரசர் கோவத்தில் அந்த கிளியைக் கொன்று விடுகிறார். அந்த பழத்தையும் அரண்மனைக்கு வெளியே தூக்கிப் போட்டு விடுகிறார்.

சில வருடங்களில் அந்த பழம் பெரிய மரமாக வளர்ந்து அதில் நிறைய பழங்களும் காய்த்தது. இதைப் பார்த்த அரசர், 'இதை யாருமே சாப்பிட்டு விடாதீர்கள். இது ஒரு விஷம் உள்ள பழம்' என்று எச்சரிக்கையும் கொடுக்கிறார். ஆனால், ஒரு நாள் ஒரு வயதான முதியவர் வாழ தெம்பில்லாமல் தன் வாழ்க்கையை முடித்துக் கொள்ளலாம் என்று எண்ணி அந்த பழத்தை சாப்பிடுகிறார். ஆனால், கொஞ்ச நேரத்திலேயே அந்த முதியவர் இளமையான வாலிபராக மாறிவிடுகிறார்.

இந்த செய்தி அந்த ஊர் முழுக்க தீயாக பரவுகிறது. இதைக் கேட்ட அரசரும், 'நம் மீது உண்மையான அக்கரை வைத்திருந்த கிளியை நாமே கொன்றுவிட்டோமே!' என்று எண்ணி மனம் வருந்தினார்.

இந்த கதையில் வந்ததுப்போல, அடுத்தவர்கள் சொல்வதை வைத்தும் கோவத்திலும் முடிவெடுத்தால் கடைசியில் வருத்தப்படுவது நாமாக தான் இருப்போம். ஏனெனில், கண்ணால் காண்பதும் பொய், காதால் கேட்பதும் பொய், தீர விசாரிப்பதே மெய்!

Some people make hasty decisions and later regret them. Such people must realize the importance of patience before making choices. Let us see this in detail through a story.

In a village, there lived an aged king who was known for his kindness and gentle behavior toward everyone. For many years, he had raised and trusted a parrot dearly. One day, the parrot asked the king for permission: “O King, let me visit my parents. I will return in a short while.” The king agreed, and the parrot flew across many forests to meet its parents.

Before the parrot returned, its parents gave it a strange fruit and said, “If your king eats this fruit, all his diseases will be cured, and he will regain his youth.”

The parrot carried the fruit and flew back. On the way, feeling tired, it placed the fruit on the ground and rested under a tree. At that time, a poisonous snake slithered by, bit the fruit, and left. Unaware of this, the parrot later presented the fruit to the king, asking him to eat it.

Before the king could eat, his minister advised, “Majesty, let us test this fruit first.” So the king ordered a guard to eat a piece. The guard ate it and instantly died. Seeing this, the furious king killed the parrot and threw the fruit out of the palace.

Years passed. The discarded fruit grew into a large tree bearing many fruits. The king warned his people, “No one should eat these fruits—they are poisonous.” But one day, an old man, tired of his life and ready to die, ate one of the fruits. To everyone’s surprise, within moments he transformed into a young man!

This news spread like wildfire throughout the kingdom. When the king heard it, he was struck with grief, thinking, “Oh, the parrot truly cared for me, yet I killed it in anger!”

Just like in this story, when we act in anger or blindly trust what others say, we end up regretting later. For in truth: “What we see with our eyes may be false, what we hear with our ears may be false, only careful judgment reveals the truth.”
